Yue Wang

I am a Professor in the Department of Control Science and Engineering at Zhejiang University. I received my Ph.D. from the same department in 2016 under the supervision of Prof. Rong Xiong. During my doctoral candidacy, I was fortunate to serve as a visiting research student at the University of Technology Sydney and Stanford University from 2013 to 2015. Our research group has been honored with several recognitions for our work, including the Best Paper Award in Robot Vision at ICRA 2024, a Best Paper Award Finalist at IROS 2025, and a Best Paper Finalist in Robot Mechanism and Design at IROS 2023. I strive to contribute to the robotics community through my service as an Associate Editor for IEEE Robotics and Automation Letters and the flagship conferences ICRA and IROS. My recent service responsibilities also include supporting the community as the Local Arrangement Chair of IROS 2025, General Chair of ARTS 2025, and Program Chair of RCAR 2026.

Our research program focuses on learning-driven robotic systems, with a fundamental mission to deploy intelligent autonomy into the physical world. Our core interests encompass embodied AI models, real-world reinforcement learning and novel robotic system design and control. To date, our group has developed and deployed a diverse range of robotic systems, including last-mile delivery robots, industrial logistics robots, visual inspection and assembly workstations, and fully autonomous bronchoscopy robots. These efforts have been applied across various domains such as advanced manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare.
